Annai Escobedo was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Clint High School in 2008. Ms. Escobedo earned the Presidential Excellence Scholarship to attend the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2011. While attending UTEP, she was a member and Legal Research Guide to the Law School Preparation Institute. During her summer following graduation, Ms. Escobedo was selected to be the Graduate Fellow in the Office of General Counsel at the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC.Ms. Escobedo earned a full tuition scholarship to the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated in 2014. At Iowa Law, she was President of the Latino Law Student Association, Student Writer of the Journal of Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems, Secretary of the Organization of Women Law Students and Staff and a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Ms. Escobedo received the Boyd Service Highest Honors Award which is given to students who show a commitment to community service by volunteering 200 hours of community service during their time in law school.During her first summer in law school, Ms. Escobedo interned for the Honorable David Briones at the Unites States District Court for the Western District of Texas. During her second summer in law school, she interned for the Honorable Guadalupe Rivera at the Eighth Court of Appeals of Texas. Ms. Escobedo was also a Student Legal Intern at the Iowa Law Clinical Law Program where she managed cases in Estate Planning, International Human Rights and Family Law matters.Ms. Escobedo was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2015. She joined Blanco Ordoñez Mata & Wallace, P.C., in 2016, where she practices Business & Real Estate Law, Commercial Litigation and Probate Litigation.
