Barry graduated, with Honors, from Washington University in St. Louis in 1977 with a Bachelors Degree in History/Urban Studies. He attended the University of Miami School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor in 1980. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in September 1980. He received his Board Certification in Workers' Compensation in August 1997. Barry has served on numerous Florida Bar committees over the years in leadership and membership capacities. He was Chairperson of the Consumer Protection Law Committee, Chairperson of the Lawyer Referral Service Committee and Chairperson of the Grievance Committee 11F. He presently serves as a member of the Workers' Compensation Rules Committee  and is Chairman of the Lawyer Referral Service Committee. Barry is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, American Bar Association, Dade County Trial Lawyers Association, Florida Workers' Advocates and the Dade County Bar Association. He is past Chairperson of the Workers' Compensation Committee of the Dade County Bar Association and was coordinator of the WLRN Television series, Workers' Compensation Today". Barry concentrates his legal work on representation of employees in Workers' Compensation matters
