Cesar Cardenas was raised in South Florida and has spent two years living abroad in Europe and South America. His experience working right out of college as a Press Secretary for a Member of Congress in Washington DC – and the political inertia and polarization that followed 9/11 – led him to New York City and a career in law.He found his niche at the Fordham University School of Law, where he began focusing on employment law and public interest policy in the school’s Community Economic Development Clinic. Among other projects in law school, he worked on a community benefits agreement negotiating jobs and other issues related to Columbia University’s expansion into the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. One of the aspects he enjoyed most about his time at Fordham was helping low-income residents organize and improve their situations, and that commitment to social justice continues in his current job, where he arrived after working for Michael Bloomberg's mayoral administration from 2010 to 2014.In his free time, Cesar helps fundraise for causes benefiting the public interest, among other volunteer projects. He has always been keen to see minorities in the workplace ascend into leadership positions and takes time to help individuals move up those career paths.
