Nothing is more important to Attorney Corinne Hoover Six than family and such is the reason she focuses her practice on family law. She is a third generation attorney, Corinne wanted to be a lawyer because she learned from the very best- her grandfather, Attorney Orval R. Hoover, and her father, Judge Kim R. Hoover. Through these examples, Corinne learned from a very young age that nothing is as important as maintaining close family relationships, even in the midst of difficult family law proceedings. For this reason, Corinne is passionately motivated to helping clients resolve their family law issues, even if it means navigating through the unfortunate world of divorce or dissolution.Corinne is a proud alumna of both The University of Akron School of Law and Ohio University, where she earned her law degree and undergraduate degree, respectively. After college and before practicing law, Corinne gained relevant experience in the business and political fields, where she managed her family's property business, ran her father's judicial campaigns and served as an office manager and bookkeeper for different law practices. Corinne also worked at the Summit County Board of Elections where she was responsible for hiring and overseeing the training of election poll workers. Since then, Corinne also gained a wealth of experience in the legal field, which includes, but is not limited to, working as a law clerk and apprentice to her grandfather and his firm, serving as a law clerk to Judge Linda Teodosio of the Summit County Juvenile Court and to the Appellate Division of the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, working as a part time Assistant Law Director/Prosecutor to the City of Tallmadge and is currently serving as the magistrate in Norton Mayor's Court.Currently Corinne is the owner and managing attorney of Hoover Kacyon, LLC, focusing her practice on family law and litigation. She is also a magistrate in Norton Mayor's Court where she presides over traffic and misdemeanor offenses. Like her father did as an attorney, Corinne focuses her practice primarily in the area of family law. This work includes divorce, dissolution, post-decree custody issues, juvenile abuse, neglect and dependency cases (where Children's Services are involved), and third party non-parent custody actions. Corinne serves extensively as both an attorney for children and a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) in both domestic relations and juvenile courts in Summit, Portage, Medina and Stark counties. Corinne also serves as a volunteer GAL through Summit County's CASA program and is on the Board of Directors of the Ohio CASA/GAL Association. Corinne has a passion for helping families, and especially children, through difficult family issues.Corinne also practices in the area of general civil litigation, including cases involving the collection of debt. With extensive experience in collections, Corinne served the great State of Ohio as Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General. Aside from family law, Corinne also practices extensively in the area of collections. Corinne was named Special Counsel to the Ohio Attorney General in 2009 and was charged with the duty of collecting taxes and other judgments owed to the State of Ohio and its various agencies. As Special Counsel, Corinne has appeared in front of many of Ohio's 88 counties' courts of common pleas. From this work, Corinne has a unique knowledge of collection law and can use that knowledge to help you collect on money owed to you, whether you already have a judgment against another or want to obtain one. Corinne will consider special contingency fees arrangements on collection matters.Corinne will also consider representing clients in a number of other areas, depending on the subject matter and complexity of the issue. Corinne will also soon offer mediation services. A free thirty minute consultation is available by appointment.Because of the overwhelming blessings in her own life, Corinne seeks to give back to the community through active civic engagement. As a member of her church, Corinne serves on her church council and as a Sunday school teacher and camp counselor for Royal Family Kids' Camp, a camp that serves abused, neglected and abandoned children.Corinne is also actively involved in her local bar associations and a member of Ohio Bar Association. She is a member of the family law section of the Akron Bar Association and an Akron Bar Foundation Fellow. She also serves on the scholarship committee for the Foundation. A hometown girl, Corinne ws raised in Cuyahoga Falls and therefore, chose to base her practice in Cuyahoga Falls as well, just as her grandfather and father did. She resides in Tallmadge with her son and husband, Tyler, who also serves as her business manager.Corinne's regular office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. Corinne also offers early morning, evening and weekend appointments to accommodate her working clients and other clients' needs.
