She speaks conversational Spanish.During law school, Missy participated in honors moot court competitions, receiving multiple awards for her advocacy. She also volunteered with Fresh Lifelines for Youth, where she mentored at-risk youth, and with the Northern California Innocence Project. Thereafter, Missy interned for the Honorable Socrates Manoukian, Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara.Missy ran her own practice in criminal defense for a short time, then worked in insurance defense where she gained extensive experience in negotiation, mediation, and litigation of matters in all stages, including through trial.
