Javier Alatorre is an attorney concentrating his practice in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense & prosecution, real estate, municipal and government matters, as well as legal consulting in Mexican legal affairs. Mr. Alatorre holds several law degrees: a 'Licenciatura en Derecho' or Bachelor of law degree from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City, an LLM or Master of Laws degree, and JD or Jurisdoctor degree, from the William S. Richardson School of Law of the University of Hawaii. Javier has significant practical experience of over 10 years, and an exemplary dedication to the legal profession.Before joining our firm in 2009, Javier worked at the Pima County Public Defender's office; a Hawaii based law firm; he was a teaching/research assistant for the William S. Richardson School of Law, of the University of Hawaii; and he also worked as a clerk with the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, under the Honorable J. Michael Seabright. While in law school Javier worked with the Hawaii Innocence Project, and continues to do so as a volunteer attorney, liaising between Hawaii and Hawaiian inmates currently in custody in prisons located in Arizona, and contributing to post-conviction proceedings for these inmates.Javier is a native of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. He obtained his first law degree from 'Universidad Panamericana' in Mexico City, and continued to live and work there until 2005, when he enrolled in the William S. Richardson School of Law of the University of Hawaii. When he is away from the office he enjoys swimming, and scuba diving, as well as visiting his home town of Hermosillo.
