Jessenia Maldonado is an associate attorney focusing on labor and employment discrimination. She has represented clients in mediations before the EEOC, JAMS, and the Southern District of New York under the court’s alternative dispute resolution program.In 2001, Ms. Maldonado graduated cum laude from New York City College of Technology in Brooklyn with a Bachelor's of Science in Legal Assistant Studies, where she was recognized for her pro bono work. After graduation, she spent six years at a workers’ compensation practice as a senior paralegal and assistant office manager, where she managed over 400 workers’ compensation claims.While in law school, Ms. Maldonado participated in numerous organizations, including serving as the senior editor with the UDC-DCSL Law Review, teaching assistant for Civil Procedure and Evidence classes, law clerk for AARP, and a student attorney at the housing and consumer law clinic. She also received a Dean’s Fellow Mason Civil Rights Scholarship. In 2010, Ms. Maldonado graduated cum laude from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law. Following law school, Ms. Maldonado worked as a contract attorney and investigator for the Division of Civil Rights, Disability Rights Section at the United States Department of Justice. She also focused on workers’ compensation and employment litigation as an associate attorney at multiple firms.
