Susan A. Koberstein is a Lead Attorney at Wilson Law Group where she practices immigration law.  Susan leads the removal practice unit at Wilson Law Group, which focuses on defending the rights of non-citizens facing deportation.  Susan also handles a variety of other immigration matters, including U visas, family petitions, consular processing, adjustment of status, Temporary Protected Status, and asylum. Susan has significant experience representing clients before the immigration courts, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), U.S. consulates abroad, and the field, service, and asylum offices of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service. Susan is a 1995 graduate of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota from which she received an American Jurisprudence Award in 1993 and a Distinguished Alumna Award in 2007.  Susan is a former Adjunct Clinical Professor at Hamline Law School where she taught the Immigration Clinic from 2002-2006, and again in 2012. Before joining Wilson Law Group, Susan practiced with the law firm of Centro Legal, Inc. from 1995 to 2006 and with the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition from 2006 to 2008.  Susan supervised the Immigration Practice Unit at Centro Legal where she also practiced in the areas of employment, consumer, housing, and government benefits law. Susan is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association where she holds the position of USCIS liaison for the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter.  She frequently trains other attorneys on issues of immigration law, particularly on the immigration consequences of criminal activity.  Her volunteer commitments have included work with the Minnesota Detention Project, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), the Minnehaha United Walk-In Legal Clinic, the United Way, and the Immigrant Law Center.
