Matthew is an attorney and the president of Throop Law, P.C., focusing on the areas of personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. He grew up in the Portland, Oregon area and relocated to Richmond in 2010 to serve the legal community after graduating from law school in Washington, D.C. In 2014 he opened a solo law practice, but expanded it to a firm of two attorneys and total staff of four in 2015. Matthew loves the practice of law, and obtaining his law license in 2014 was the fulfillment of one of his life long dreams.While he takes the practice of law very seriously, in his personal life Matthew loves the thrill of adventure and exploring the unknown. He appreciates the natural beauty of the outdoors, and is passionate about traveling to other countries to experience other cultures and different ways of life. Matthew tends to travel without an itinerary, so that he has the option to explore whatever interests may pass his way.
