Dr. Ognian Shentov focuses on patent, trade secret, copyright, and high-technology matters in the electronics, telecommunications, software, medical devices, and financial industries. He has represented many large and sophisticated companies in these industries, and also advises clients on complex IP portfolio management and monetization issues.Oggie's recent representations include a patent infringement litigation involving medical devices in which he obtained what is reportedly the largest civil verdict in the history of New Hampshire. He also defended Lenovo in a patent infringement case about the MPEG video compression standard; represented several defendants in a case about dynamic web page generation; defended Chevron in a trade secret misappropriation dispute concerning high-throughput technology; defended two open source software copyright infringement cases; and directed the defense of a group of international companies in a semiconductor manufacturing case. His past litigation practice includes New Hampshire and various districts in New York, Texas, and California. Prior to joining Jones Day, Oggie was a partner at the Pennie & Edmonds intellectual property law firm.Oggie is a vice chair of the U.S. Patent Law Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners (IPO) association and member of its Corporate IP Management Committee.
