Andrew H. Turner has been an associate with the firm since October of 2011. Mr. Turner came to the firm from the Montgomery, Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center, where he worked under civil rights legend Morris Dees. Mr. Turner served as a Senior Staff Attorney in SPLC's Immigrant Justice Project from 2005-2011. There he focused on representing low-wage migrant and immigrant workers in class action litigation of wage payment, human trafficking and civil rights claims.Mr. Turner began his legal career as a Staff Attorney at the Virginia Justice Center for Farm and Immigrant Workers, where he litigated wage payment, discrimination and workplace assault cases.Mr. Turner has published legal education materials explaining the monetary and immigration relief available to victims of involuntary servitude and has taught numerous continuing legal education courses in his field. He was a keynote speaker at the 2011 convention of the National Employment Lawyers Association.Mr. Turner graduated cum laude from The New York University School of Law in 2002. During his time at NYU, he was awarded an Arthur Garfield Hays Fellowship in Civil Liberties and received the David Friedman Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Evidence.Mr. Turner's hobbies include hiking, gardening, fishing, softball and running – generally in pursuit of his young son.
