Samantha Pownall is an associate attorney in the White Plains office. Samantha focuses on special education litigation, suspension hearings and special needs planning. She is an adjunct professor of law at New York Law School and the Relay Graduate School of Education. Before joining the Cuddy Law Firm, Samantha was an Equal Justice Works fellow and policy counsel at the New York Civil Liberties Union, where she represented students in disciplinary proceedings and helped litigate a class-action school safety case.In addition, she wrote a report, A,B,C,D, STPP: How School Discipline Feeds the School to Prison Pipeline, which was covered by the New York Times, The Huffington Post and Rolling Stone. She also supervised the Racial Justice Project at New York Law School.Samantha graduated from Oberlin College with High Honors in 2004 and received her J.D. from New York Law School in 2011 where she was the recipient of the Chief Justice Rose E. Bird Award for Public Interest Law and the Social Justice Activism Award. Samantha is admitted to practice in New York State.Prior to law school, Samantha was a high school Spanish and English teacher in North Carolina and New York.
